Pastor Dennis Murphy

 
Dennis comes to Luckey Baptist Church with a wide background of experience.  He was a St. Louis County Police officer for 16 years before going into ministry. He attended Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City and graduated in 1992 with a degree in Divinity with additional studies in Church Music Leadership and Christian Education. He pastored a small mission church in Maitland, MO while attending school and upon graduation he was called to serve Glen Lake Baptist Church in Minnetonka, MN.

Dennis served in Minnesota for 16 years and was very active in Southern Baptist work at both the State and Association levels. He was the moderator of the Twin Cities Baptist Association for four years and served on the Minnesota Wisconsin Executive Board for four years as well.  Dennis served as the Training Coordinator for MN/WI Disaster Relief.

He has been married to Kathy for 39 years and they have three grown children and five grandchildren. In 2007 they moved back to the St. Louis to be closer to their grandchildren. Kathy works at Mercy Hospital in Creve Couer as a PSA in the Mercy Safewatch Unit and Dennis is Bi-Vocational and works as a community coordinator at Jefferson County Community Partnership. He has served as pastor at Blackwell Baptist Church from November 2008 to October 2012 when he accepted the call to serve as pastor at Luckey Baptist starting November 2012 . 
 
 
Dennis has a great commitment to missions and has served as Site Director for a short term missions organization called The Isaiah Connection in Alaska for the past ten years conducting Upward Basketball Camps, Vacation Bible Schools and construction projects.  He served as a Childrens Mission Camp pastor for ten years while in Minnesota.  He has also coordinated a group that went to the Dominican Republic where they helped to construct a chapel in the village of Fatima.  He has also preached in nursing homes for the past 23 years.
 
He loves ministry of any kind.  Whether it is with children, youth, adults of seniors he loves to share Jesus with everyone he comes in contact with.  He currently serves as the Evangelism Director for the Jefferson Baptist Association.
